In an ever changing world that is becoming increasingly science and technology-reliant, it is crucial to equip the next generation with the tools to create, innovate, and build. Our main goal through Layla’s Labs is to help girls cultivate a love for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) while also teaching them about black history and encouraging problem-solving and creativity.

Through our kits, we strive to make science accessible for all. The labs feature engaging stories complete with colorful graphics, stimulating puzzles, and a fun activity to do at home!

STEM skills help prepare individuals at a young age for more difficult problems later on. We want kids to know, especially black girls, that science is possible, and that there are black women scientists out there like them.

- Our Story -
Layla’s Labs, a Charlotte-based nonprofit organization, was founded by two passionate teenage sisters with a deep love for STEM. Their mother transformed the world into a playground for intellectually curious kids, instilling in them an early appreciation for innovation and expression. Their journey began with science fair projects, filmmaking, and tinkering with rudimentary technology; they now intend to take these experiences into Layla's Labs to encourage young creators.
